The White House is recommending legislation that would give Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents the authority to share unredacted samples of products and its packaging with a rights holder prior to a seizure to determine if a shipment of goods is counterfeit.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has recommended to Customs and Border Protection that it set time frames and milestones for updating its national security criteria for identifying high-risk cargo to include the information it collects under the so-called 10-plus-two rule, according to a report released on Oct. 12.
