The new investment policy subcommittee of the State Department's Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy (ACIEP) will hold its first meeting June 8. The subcommittee has been formed to examine possible changes to the U.S. model Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) and to investment chapters in U.S. free trade agreements.

The Office of Government Ethics this week took a step toward congressional consideration of two nominations put forward by President Barack Obama by releasing the financial disclosure forms for Rep. Ellen Tauscher (D-CA), who is nominated to be the State Department undersecretary of state for arms control and international security, and Frank Sanchez, who is nominated to be the Commerce Department undersecretary for international trade.
