Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate have laid out similar goals for the May 3-5 meeting of the Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) in Beijing. In particular, they agree that the administration should press China on reforming its financial sector, lifting barriers to foreign investment, and better protecting intellectual property rights, according to separate letters sent to senior administration officials in advance of the meeting.
